SEO & Marketing
Many people correlate online marketing with SEO. They think SEO equals to internet marketing which is not true. Of course SEO or Search Engine Optimization occupies the major chunk of the online marketing pie but it is not the “be-all-and-end-all” of digital marketing. Online marketing is the sum total of SEO, social media promotion, email marketing, display advertising, mobile advertising, search engine marketing and much more. It is a large spectrum of activities that involves research, analysis, evaluation, innovation, creativity, hard work and consistent practice. And SEO should be in tandem with all these activities if it has to come up with favorable results for your business.
It should not be that one should focus only on SEO and ignore other aspects. All the marketing tools need to be taken into account while devising the marketing strategy for a web project and the roadmap should be chalked out as per the requirement of the project. It may be the case that a site has more chances of gaining popularity if it is marketed on social media platforms. So, adequate resources and efforts should be allocated in this direction and the same applies for other tools as well. Agreed SEO is essential and has to be implemented consistently but it should not be allowed to overshadow others.
Also, online marketing is a collaborative practice that involves different tools and the tools depend on each other to wield results. SEO is very important in this regard as it provides the keywords that are used in content marketing and data for analysis and research. Everyone knows how important content is. It is present in all the marketing practices and thus, SEO and marketing have to mingle and move together. SEO needs the support of other online marketing tools and vice versa. So, tread the path carefully and try to get the equation right.
